After a long period of development, Digital Medievalist is testing its brand new website. It is written mostly in TEI P5 XML and uses Apache Cocoon for rendering and Subversion for file storage. The DM Wiki, which has been experiencing reliability problems for the last little while is still being repaired and will be migrated to the new server shortly.
In addition to being completely open source, the new website also features an improved atom news server with a form that allows members to publish their own announcements more easily.
There may be some teething problems for a short period as we iron out any wrinkles, but hopefully it will lead to a more stable, robust, website under our own control.
With the completion of the new website, we will beginning to catch up with the publication of a backlog of articles for our on-line journal, Digital Medievalist.
We welcome your comments and suggestions. Please contact Daniel O'Donnell, James Cummings, or Torsten Schaßen with your suggestions for improvement or additions.
